Recently have been binging this You Tube channel. "Freakin Reviews" hosted by James White. I like that he has no affiliation with any company or product...just reviews things to give his honest opinion. What I like is he will actually purchase and use these items....and give his opinion as a customer. He concedes that some things he does not like....
He then will do an annual update to let viewers know what he thinks after using the products. Hard to explain...but here are a couple videos



 

I like that he shows himself using the products...giving pros and cons. and he tells exactly what he likes and doesvnot like. Even comparing similar items.
I had read somewhere that we should not trust reviews ON Amazon, as some are fake. I like his As Seen on TV product reviews

This is no different from HSN. It's just a condensed version.

If you think about most of the products, they aren't nearly as good or as useful as he makes them sound. and you can imagine them being sold on HSN.

7 hours to make ice. How many times am I going to do that. I just buy a 20 lb bag at the supermarket that lasts for weeks.

I didn't see any items I thought I might need. All them you'll use once and put away and dig out a year later and laugh at yourself for buying them. They solve problems you never had in the first place.

The chair/cane was interesting but I'd rather have a walker with a seat if I needed that sort of thing.

While,I do agree with you, I still enjoy his reviews. He is upfront with what he likes or dislikes about the products. Unlike HSN, He does not seem to ask people to buy the products. He just tells what HE thinks of them
I mean, I have bought products that I have regretted, and this is after I read reviews.
I do agree some products are just plain dumb...like the fancy ice makers (Do we really need ice shapped like little balls? And some of the items are down right dumb.
That being said, I like the fact that he is not paid to give "good" reviews. And there have been a few times he has changed his mind.
He is simply interesting to watch, and I think just be taken with a grain of salt.
