A painting by LS Lowry described as one of his "most exciting works" has been sold for £2.3 million.
Station Approach, Manchester, was painted in 1960 and depicts the scene outside the London and North Western Railway Exchange Station.
It was sold on Tuesday at a sale of modern and post-war British art at Sotheby's auction house.

I can't say I have ever liked Lowry's pictures. No doubt when I am dead my artwork will sell for trillions!:D:D:D

I buy my wall artwork at the dollar stores. It doesn't wreck my bank account. If I had millions in the bank, I wouldn't waste it on drugs, alcohol, or paintings.

As Davey Jones said when "art" sells for $millions, it's for investment. It must be "good", if it cost millions. And it's "great", when it's resold for a lot more $millions.
