Anybody have or know anything about this surgery? My thumbs have hurt for years, and are getting worse. Only recently found out it was arthritis. It does hurt a lot and has started to limit what I can do with my hands, even with the pain.
I have tried cortisone shots, with little effect. Went in today to get them x-rayed and apparently I have no cartilage in the joint at the base of my thumb, and lots of bone spurs. The doctor said he was surprised it did not hurt more.
He is recommending the LRTI surgery, from what I see online it seems to be the thing to do. But it is not minor surgery, see https://www.schimizzimd.com/lrti-li...and-wrist-elbow-surgeon-frisco-dallas-tx.html
This is a problem in both thumbs, but they will not operate on both, just one at a time with a long wait in-between, at least some months. I'd sure like to get this over with in one event, but I guess that's not possible. My right thumb is the worst, so I guess I will start with that one.
I am guess there are folks here who know a lot more about this than I. And suggestions, thoughts, comments or ideas would be appreciated.
