The last several days when I tried to update the definitions, it freezes, then when I try to close it, I get "Program Not Responding". I have version 1.75.0.1300 running on Windows 7. Usually the green downloading bar slides right across in just a few seconds.
I've just been opening the program from a desktop icon then clicking on the UPDATE tab (see attached graphic). I ran a quick scan with MSE and MBAM and they didn't find any threats. It does the same thing opening right from the Program menu.
Today I just waited it out and after about 40 seconds, the green downloading bar went about halfway and stopped even though it said 100% downloaded. Then when I went to close the program, it finished. Took about a minute and a half.
The scanning part works okay and I also did a virus scan with Microsoft Security essentials. Neither found any threats.
I don't need a lecture on updating my OS or MBAM version (that's the last version that worked on my system). I'd like to know what might be the problem.
