Marathon Hospital Visit 4 Wife

Spent the day (Wednesday) at our local hospital after my wife (triple dosed/covid/flu) complaining about shortness of breath, dizziness and the feeling of not being able to breathe. First thoughts was of course - COVID! After a short ambulance ride and her admittance, tests galore, CAT scans and anyone that passed with a cart load of medical supplies wanting blood.

They finally diagnosed her condition as early onset of pulmonary embolism both lungs had blood clots, they admitted her after a required Covid test to at least an over night stay. They said it was caught early enough, recovery should be ok. Put her immediately on IV's and blood thinners. I discovered now she's admitted I can't visit her without a Covid test and the restrictions are pretty tight, so I'm the designated care giver for the dog, I'm sure he will warm up to me.

The clots have no link to the vaccines, her problems stem from her father's side and is something she's been aware of for many years.

Wishing the best for your wife, and glad that you got her to the hospital quickly and they were able to treat her properly. Sounds like they have high hopes for her recovery. Sending healing thoughts, you take care too.

Will you be able to visit your wife soon? I hope all goes well for her. Take care.
Don't know as yet. We're taking it 1 day at a time. I had her call our 3 children last night, I called her closest friends this AM. Her instructions to me are 'ignore our oldest daughter's input she likes to be in charge figuring us elders are incapable'.

I think the dog won! Wife is home, after every test they identified a new malady. They put her on a drip blood thinner for the lung clots but after a CAT scan they found a couple of clots (old) in her legs so they prescribed thinner pills for that. A spot on her kidney concerned them but that cleared after 24 hours on the drip. Her thorax is miss-shapened but that can be corrected with surgery.

She's always slow when going number 1 it's become a family joke, more simple surgery when she's able. After Wed discharge she experienced abdominal pains, back to the ER. Took 6 & 1/2 hours because of over crowded Covid delays to see a Dr. (We got home at 3AM). They figured the problems they had with catherer she would have problems, more simple procedures. She's back with her bag & tube once again.

With antibiotics we're hoping she has stabilized & can heal with rest for now.
Bless y'all, you have really been through the mill! One day at a time.... Prayers your wife recovers with no further issues

I had forgot to mention that I had a simple procedure involving a podiatrist and my big toes on Tuesday before all her problems. My issue is fine, but still experiencing a little discomfort walking, open toe sandals are helping. When it rains, it's definitely pouring.
