Marijuana sales in OR netted $3.48M

I figure it's just a question of time before Marijuana becomes legal nationwide...both Prescription, and recreational. People are going to continue using this stuff, no matter what laws are on the books. The nation might as well legalize it, control it, and tax it...rather than letting all these dollars just flow to the Mexican Drug Cartels.

The downside is the growing epidemic of Heroin use...by those who have "graduated" from prescription pain pills (which are mostly a derivative of Cocaine), and Marijuana use...when these less potent drugs no longer give the users their desired "high". Heroin overdoses are killing over 40,000 people a year, currently, and that number is growing.

Between drug use, and alcohol, it seems that a quarter of our population can't get through the day without being half stoned.
