Massive Fire Burning Out Of Control In Texas

As of the last news I saw, there were two fatalities, one an 83 year old grandmother. So sad. May they R.I.P. It's a miracle that there weren't more. A massive fire like that is terrifying. I'm watching a documentary about the California fires and the firefighter heroes battling it, called Bring Your Own Brigade. Just watching this terrified me...I can't imagine being there and trying to escape it!

@Happyflowerlady I didn't see that snow had fallen there.

Other Texans, @Jackie23, @CarolfromTX, @Blessed, @Liberty

I hope you are all safe and sorry to any I didn’t think of off the top of my head. Fires are terrifying.
Thanks so much Jules...yes, we are about 1000 miles away from the fires but our hearts go out to those people who have lost everything.
The cattle ranchers are suffering as well as any people and animals in "harm's way". As of this writing they still do not have the fires contained. Its so dry out in west Texas and the winds are seemingly non stop - all of which are complicating any "back fire starts" to put a halt to the main fires raging. My husband is a Fire Commissioner and here they are watching for possible "mutual aid" calls.

I think the time for prayers is long past.

Texans should be screaming at the state legislature to spend some money on expanding fire fighting forces and buy some water-dropping planes. Buy some fire repellant dropping planes too.

It's not the 1800s and Texans are not all cowboys. Spend some tax money wisely, Texas.

Yet more homeless people through no fault of their own! I feel so sorry for those people. It's bad enough that they've lost their homes (and some their livelihoods) but now they have to find places to live and probably have to navigate a system of red tape regarding claims. It blows my mind how massive this fire is, bigger than some states!

Just he(a)rd..7,000 cows are gone...
and, predicted...more to go.

There goes the price 👆....
for all you...meat-eaters.
