This is where the dark water of the Rio ***** meets the muddy waters of the Amazon. It was amazing. The Rio ***** itself was ginormous, wider than the Mississippi. We took a small boat up the Rio ***** to visit a rubber plantation. We learned about the importance of manioc and about rubber production in the pouring rain. 6527696B-B095-4294-B9E5-9B89B64F20C7.jpeg8D3AA483-4F4F-4BB0-BB59-33CBD2A85305.jpegE6B57107-5B10-4264-8A40-3E9427F9EDC7.jpeg

I went there quite some time ago. We took a boat out of Manaus, Brazil. We also saw some pink river dolphins. It was marvelous experience. Thank you for sharing your pictures. It brings back quite a few wonderful memories.

Great pictures @CarolfromTX ! I envy you the trip.
Oh that’s hilarious. See the asterisks? The website censored my post. The dark waters are from the black river. Apparently the Portuguese word for black is offensive.
Ran into the same issue with the word for black in Spanish... One of the problems of having the automated sensor, harder for a computer to see a word in context.

Better than it was when I was in Saudi Arabia. If put in a word or tried to go to a website that was unapproved you got a message to the effect that the Religious Police did not approve of this, if you disagree click here. Don't know what they would have done if you clicked it, never was tempted. I worked with a guy from Sussex, made it hard for him to get news from home... I see the power of the Religious Police has been reduced but they are still around.
