Melon kabobs?

I was thinking of adding melon chunks to my kabobs this summer and was wondering which melon types work best kabobbed and do you make your own marinade or use something premade from the grocery store?
 

Any and all melons would be great. These are just fruit kabobs? I would not put anything on good fruit. Some people like to salt there melon but I would leave that up to the diner.
