Microchipping Pets

A collar with a tag in addition to the chip is a good backup. A chip requires access to a reader, a tag doesn't.

I never had my cats micro chipped but will say it is a good idea. I do have mine registered with Get Me Home and the tag states that.

My young dog I have now came with a microchip, I just had to register on the site, pay the fee for less than $20 a year, and put in all his information, including a photo. This is the first pet I've ever had who has been chipped. My cat doesn't have a microchip. They both have an ID tag on their collars with name, address, phone #.
