I love this show, am now on Season 8 and my question is this.

Never having been to England are the roads really that narrow as shown in the episodes? I laughed at the episode where detective Troy ran Barnaby off the road going to Cullys wedding.

The homes and landscaping are beautiful too, real or just a movie set?

We bought almost all the Midsomer Murders series on DVD except for the very last few. Loved them.

Yes the roads are really this narrow.. absolutely, some just one car wide, but most only 2 cars wide .. except of course for the motorways and A roads..and even more so in rural area like those here where I live which is very like the towns used to film Midsummer Murders.. Did you hear John Nettles is coming back ?... IMO he was the best

These are the roads where I live..

I saw that where Nettles is coming back, guest appearance. I am at the point in the series where Tom left and his cousin joined the cast. So far I think the cousin has a hard act to follow. I do not like the wife, seems like she is always in a rush and talks so fast I miss what she said.

I miss Joyce and Cully and hope they will make an appearance along with Tom.

I'm the same I don't like the wife at all

Just found another one I've taken through the woods near to my house.. a very busy road believe it or not, but only one car wide in places, as you can see.. and on the left is a farm where agricultural vehicles have to enter and exit..

Incidentally, t the 25th anniversary show is on our screens on Sunday night... I've just set the recorder for it...features
The show will feature an array of cast both new and old, including Neil Dudgeon (DCI John Barnaby, 2010-2022), John Nettles (DCI Tom Barnaby, 1997-2011), Nick Hendrix (Detective Sergeant Jamie Winter, 2016-2022), Annette Badland (Dr Fleur Perkins, Pathologist, 2018-2022), Daniel Casey (DS Gavin Troy, 1997-2003), Jason Hughes (DS Ben Jones, 2005-2013), Jane Wymark (Joyce Barnaby, 1997-2011), Jeff Povey (Writer, 2016-2022), Ian Strachan (Producer, 1999-2022), Tamzin Outhwaite (Guest Star ‘The Lions of Causton’, 2018), Manjinder Virk (Dr Kam Karimore, Pathologist 2016-2017) and Fiona Dolman (Sarah Barnaby, 2011-2022).

ITV share: "The documentary will take viewers behind the scenes of the filming of Series 23, as well as taking a trip down memory lane with a Midsomer coach tour looking back at some of the show’s iconic locations, paying homage to the beautiful but equally deadly English countryside which has played such a huge part in the success of the series.

They are summer tourists, @hollydolly
They are hugging to the right, as that is a two way street for cars, etc! I would park first before attempting that!
Yes I can see they're tourists but we don't get tourists here in the villages.. except for cyclists from the city... there's nothing here for them to come for.. and believe me we're all expert drivers in this part of the Uk, we have to be, remember not only are we driving on very narrow roads, trying to avoid Lorries, trucks, big agricultural vehicles, we're also doing it with a stick shift..:ROFLMAO:

This picture is of Rockport, which is surrounded by ocean. It's gorgeous and loaded with American History!

I'm sorry, I seem to be missing your point ...we're in the countryside...we're not tourist attractions, we' have no shops, and we don't get tourists...
Even better! Just noted the similarities when I made that drive many times. Always reminded me of treks through England.
