Migrants’ right to permanent asylum in the UK will be scrapped from Monday in the most significant overhaul of immigration policy in a generation.

Shabana Mahmood, the Home Secretary, will change the rules so that migrants arriving in the UK after Monday will only be eligible for temporary refugee status as part of sweeping reforms to deter illegal migrants.

Seems to me like a good plan yet according to content within the article liberals are opposed.

Removing "Permanent" sounds like a very smart move at this point in time for sure.
It's like walking up to someone on the street, marrying them vowing Till death do us part and having to stick to it.

Right..I'll believe that when it's implemented, and they start chucking them out. The fact is that Starmer our inept prime minister is desperately trying to keep himself above water... and apease the public...tooo little toooooo late !...
