Mills and Boon books

I read all kinds of books. In the past I have read Mills and Boon romances and loved them. There is a need in me for such satisfying reading without any graphic stuff, no bad language. I feel nice, they have pleasant characters and happy endings. I believe us women value real romance.
So why sniggering and scorn from some quarters?
Do you like such escapism and nice clean novels?

I have read a few in my time, but I prefer Danielle Steel and Jacqueline Collins when it comes to Romance.

I do prefer clean novels, but romances bore me. Same stories, different names.....

I used to read Jackie Collins, really enjoyed her writing.
