Haven't you heard? Nerds are cool now. 
I think being curious is one of the things that helps keep us young in spirit. And having several interests should keep you happily engaged in whatever and cut down on boredom.

Funny thing about us nurses. We get caught up in all things medical and forget there is so much more out there. I too, look at a host of different things that arouse my curiosity these days.
