Mississippi Tornado Video 04/12/2020

We lived in Wichita, KS., for about 4 years, in the late 60's. We saw several similar storms, and dove into the Tornado shelter several times every year....and had several "close calls". We never regretted moving from that area. Tornadoes are a nasty storm, as they can hit anywhere with little or no warning. Anyone living in the Midwest or Southern states quickly learns to take a "tornado watch" seriously.

View the video for 44:0 seconds!!! Have you ever seen anything like that?!

The video in the link is a PSA--not one of the ones from today. But yes, I've seen them, been right under a couple that didn't touch down. You literally can't breath under one. The sky is purple and green with clouds churning, but the air on the ground is eerily still. The displaced air and fear make it hard to breath. They're terrifyingly primal ...like there's a ginormous, angry beast stalking you.

Last I heard, the death toll for Mississippi is at seven. :( The front has moved the north central part of the state where I am with no touch downs, but power is out for hundreds of miles. Got a text from the power company yesterday that due to Covid19, restoration would take longer. I charged up solar lights, solar generator, devices and back up phone batteries yesterday. Wouldn't be surprised if we're out for days.

Yes... on Feb. 4th 2008 we were treated to the super Tuesday tornado outbreak. We were right in the path of the EF-4 that ran over 100 miles in a straight line.(not the usual skip around). It came within 800 yard of the house and destroyed most of the small town we lived in. I took a picture of my friends jeep. 😱 (or what was left of it).
