Monogrammed Coat Hanger

Nowadays, that would be a brand ,
that they wanted to get you to pay for the item, and then have a way to advertise themselves. šŸ˜

But now, for fun, we could imagine what the letters might have stood for, if not a monogram or a brand.:ROFLMAO:

The man who built my house in 1897, Jacob W. Pitney was a local businessman. This coat hanger was in one of the closets. He must have been successful - you gotta have lotsa money to think of having your hangers monogrammed!

I've never been interested in antiques, but that hanger might be valuable if you know for sure that it's authentic.

I offered it to the town historian, but she is so busy since the former historian retired and she's overwhelmed wth sorting through documents and other papaerwork. She wan't very interested, understandably. I also showed it to the next door neighbor that has garage sales and is a part-time antique dealer (the one on the other side of me from where the people that have wee hour burner parties). He wasn't interested, either.
