Monty Hall who will be best remembered for hosting classic game show,"Let's Make A Deal' '63-'76 died yesterday of heart failure at age 96.
The premise of this game was, contestants from the audience would show up wearing outrageous costumes just to get Monty's attention. The contestants often brought something to trade to get the 1st prize .The contestants chosen had chance to trade the modest 1st prize for objects hidden in boxes or behind the curtains on stage.
The hidden prizes were either expensive jewelry, trips, money or other merchandise or worthless nonsense prizes.
Monty is survived by his 3 children, son Richard, 2 daughters,Sharon and Joanna Gleason who I know is an actress Sue

One time a contestant on the show jumped on Monty Hall and made him fall down the stairs, injuring his back. After reading about that, my mother enjoyed watching how well he dodged contestants who tried to get too close.
