Just received my council tax statement for the coming year. The council tax is what we pay towards various services such as education, social care, police, transport and roads etc..
Here, we get a combined bill for council tax, sewerage and water. Although the council tax itself isn't much higher, the other two have increased quite a bit.
For us, that's another £200 a year for a steadily decreasing service. Along with the forthcoming increases in energy costs a lot of people are going to be worse off this year.

you're lucky to get that combined..most of us have to pay separately for water and council tax... however I agree wholeheartedly about ever decreasing services, so it sticks in the craw about having to pay so much every year...
