Most popular baby names for 2014

My favorites are the ones I have grandkids with those first or middle names (Noah,Hannah Grace,) but I really, really love Harper for a girl. To Kill A Mockingbird was one of my all time favorite books.

All of those names are popular in the UK at the moment. The most famous baby Harper of course is Harper Beckham, youngest child of England Footballer David Beckham and his wife ex spice girl Victoria!

Harper is a very pretty name....BUT, kids usually shorten their names. So this little angel is gonna wind up being called "Harpy",

a scolding, bad-tempered woman shrew. Ya gotta be careful what you name your kids,,,,Peter, Richard, Hortense and a few others that
I can't think of right now.

OH...Dolores......the technical name for the unit of pain....is DOL. where Jesus walked to his death. (the Via Doloroso)

I like Henry:) and Hannah:).

I like Henry:) and Hannah:).

My twin boy and girl would be Zachery:) and Zoe ..:).

The boys names on that list don't seem to change so drastically over time, as many times in life they are juniors.

I like a lot of the girl names listed ... Leah for one. I like Tara, Zoe. Also, Brooklyn and Madison, and I don't even live in New York ..:) ..names like that come with attitude IMO. .(Madison first became popular with the movie Splash -Daryl Hannah)

And aren't Aria and Sofia Disney Princesses? :) .... I think so... my granddaughters teach me well. :D

Zoey (or Zoe) is one I don`t like-but that was because of a Zoey I met about 25 years ago lol. In fact,it was becoming popular about 20 years ago so when I got a new Poodle puppy,I named her Zoey. I told my kids that was so that none of them would be tempted to name a baby that lol. Funny thing is,my son`s ex,who lived with us for two years after their son was born and they were finishing school, just had a new baby girl last week (not with my son) and named her Zoey. She and I do not speak any longer and I really wonder if she did it to spite me LOL.

Well no wonder you don't like the name. My condolences..:) ..
I've never known a Zoe, so I've been intrigued with the name for a long time. ...maybe my next dog..:D
Kids already have their names in place, so that won't work .. hehe

DD wanted to name her DD Olivia. Thank all that is holy that her DH didn't like it. I don't, either. I don't go for trendy names or names that are hard to pronounce, are difficult to spell or are spelled in a "cute" way. It comes from having an unusual name that's difficult for Americans to pronounce and to spell. And because I've suffered with my own unusual name all my life, I gave my kids names that are not trendy, not difficult to pronounce and not difficult to spell...and they've all thanked me many times:)

Pappy, they are adorable, I know you are proud of them.

My granddaughter named her last child Trinity, I didn't like it at the time, but it seems fine now.

Trust me, being a Richard over the years has caused some suffering but I am too young and shy to elaborate...
