Moulin Rouge

I like the new version (of the movie). It got a little too schmaltzy here and there (for my taste) but I guess that was part of its retro style. I particularly liked what they did with the song "Roxanne". That was fire.

Library doesn't have old version and I don't want to watch on computer screen
My TV channel is showing movies from the 40/50/60s so hoping it will come eventually. Just watched the old version of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy......great old British spy stuff..
There are ways to stream content from a computer or tablet, even a phone to many TV’s but if you’re content to wait, I won’t try to advise you further. I hope it will play one day for you.

I've been to the Moulin Rouge a couple of times...

First time when I was 24 years old.. a bunch of us girls from work took a coach to Paris.. the coach took 13 hours to get to the Charles De Gaulle airport hotel Paris, and drop us off.
Then by the time we got showered and changed and the coach returned to take us into the city it was very late, but we were all excited to go to the Moulin Rouge ...but when we got there it was only one hour until closing time, and they wanted the equivalent today of £80 per ticket to get in just for an hour, .. we pleaded with the door staff to allow us in for a reduced price but they wouldn't, so we'd gone all that way for nothing.. we ended up in a back street bar ......all because they coach was so slow getting to Paris..

Nowadays you have to book the Moulin Rouge weeks in advance to stand any chance of getting to see a show...

Knew nothing about the movie, however, I did love the Plymouth color Moulin Rouge (also known as Panther Pink on Dodge cars). So much so, that I painted my 66 Charger that color. :) Now, I guess I'll hunt down the movie since I see some of my favorite actors, Zsa Zsa and Jose' Ferrer are in it. (y)(y)
