My wife and I saw this yesterday. Talk about an action-packed film! The special effects are unreal in terms of the explosions on the drilling rig. I'll have to do some reading to see how they filmed this. Very tense, exciting film.

Here's a link to the IMDB site that tells more about the film. Good reviews.

The movie is based on the NY Times article that chronicled the disaster. It only covers the events on the day of the explosion. Fascinating reading. So much that went wrong in so little time. Proves how unprepared humans can react in moments of extreme stress, but also demonstrates how heroic some folks can be.

The movie doesn't go into the aftermath of the disaster, including the environmental impact.

I totally agree with you. We saw this the week it came out. You just stay riveted in your seat with the intensity. What a great movie!!!! Tens thumbs up:D I'm not doing a spoiler but the only thing I wanted to see different is them chaining up that BP executive and tossing him in the water...but that's just me...
