This afternoon I went to see movie'Ad Astra' which in Latin means 'to the stars'
Astronaut,Roy Mc Bride has been longing,searching for the truth about his father,Cliff. He was another astronaut/scientist who 29 yrs earlier went on a research& recovery mission to Neptune called'Lima Project'.Cliff has not been seen or heard from since.Roy not knowing what the truth is decides to go on a space mission to find him,see if he is alive
You certainly feel his pain in trying to reconnect with his dad,that's basically the premise of the movie
Brad Pitt was terrific as Roy,Tommy Lee Jones was also good as 'Cliff' and Donald Sutherland in a brief role as friend of Cliff's. The CGI{computer graphic images} were awesome,they looked real to me,and I've seen many CGI movies over the yrs.In some scenes,I was reminded me of another space movie'Gravity'
This is only the 4th movie I've seen this yr, way below my average.The movies this summer were either sequels,remakes which didn't appeal to me.My hope is I can see 10 by the end of the yr Sue
