Any users of Word 2003 here? I've got a quotes journal using Word 03 and have really gotten stumped on how to remove text highlighting. I inserted a quote from I don't remember where--probably a webpage--that was highlighted in yellow, it's highlighted in yellow in my document, and now anything else I add after is highlighted in yellow, aaaargh! I googled it and finally found where the highlight/remove highlight tool is for this old an app but it's not working (I get the text selected, click on No Color in the highlight tool, nope it's still highlighted). I've tried getting out of the doc and back in and try again; no luck. Any help is appreciated; thanks!

What if you cut the highlighted text from the document, paste it into something like notepad or another empty document, save the original, minus what you cut out and then reload the document, to paste the saved text into the original. I got the idea from this page - What to do if ...

Thanks, Chris; I did the cut out of the orig doc, pasted it in a temporary email--which fortunately the highlighting didn't carry over to--and then re-pasted into the document; it worked, yay! Thanks, I knew someone here would know what to do! SFers rock! :D

A little hint to prevent this from happening when you only want to copy text without anything extra is to use "Paste as plain text" (Ctrl+Shift+V).
Thanks; that didn't work (guess since Word 03 is so darn old) but what does work is "Paste Special; Formatted Text." Thanks for all the help all the time here on SF; does this place rock or what!
