To all the long time fans of MSNBC/NBC anchor, Brian Williams told his staff yesterday he is leaving the network in Dec,after 28 yrs. He's decided not to renew his contract,wants to spend more time with his family,do 'other things'.
I've been a fan for yrs, always liked him.He started his career at MSNBC in '96,then worked his way up to be White House correspondent for NBC News. When Tom Brokaw retired as anchor of NBC Nightly News, in '04 Brian took over until 2015. He was suspended for 6 months for lying about some of his reports in Iraq&New Orleans. Many people thought he was through,wouldn't be able to get another job
I was a 'happy camper' when I learned he was coming back to MSNBC in Sept 2015 as 'breaking news anchor' which he does so well.During the 2016 Presidential primaries/election,he co anchored with Rachel Maddow{don't like her} ,Nicolle Wallace, other correspondents His show'The 11th Hour with Brian Williams' debuted on Sept 6,2016 only for 1/2 hr Mon-Thurs,it became an instant hit with viewers,it expanded to an hour on April 12,2017 It was the #1 cable show in the 11pm time slot for 2017
I've watched his show from the start,loved it,Brian has interesting guests each night, some have become regulars on the show e.g NYT reporter, Peter Baker,Washington Posts Ashley Parker, Phil Rucker, Eugene Robinson Pres,historians, Jon Mecham,Michael Beschloss,Doris Kearns Goodwin{they've known Brian for yrs} Michael Steele ex RNC chairman,military experts, Barry McCafferty,Jack Jacobs. I love Brian's sense of humor as well
I don't know when Brian's last day is,but I will be watching Sue
