Multiple doctors? Are the specialists contradicting or ignoring each other doctors & issues?

Ever have multiple doctors and/or specialists that not only seem to contradict other doctors or ignore patient issues? Or are so focused on one issue/problem that they want to see it eliminated regardless of consequences/side effects of their treatment and medications?

I know people who's blood tests indicate 'possible' kidney issues yet they said one doctor told them he's just worried about his specialty issues because they are more critical. So patients are to sacrifice organs for another issues that aren't even life threatening at this time? Apparently this doctor is strictly a by the book protocol & numbers guy for his specialty. Other medical employees call him the geek or the tech.

I don't go to the doctor very often, but the times I've been, I always verify what they tell me on the Internet...at MayoClinic.com, and WebMD.com., etc. Personally, I think these sites can give a person more good information that most doctors do.

That's what I do but there are people/patients that rely solely on medical people for all of their information & treatment. They can't or won't advocate for themselves. Quite frankly many lack self initiative to their own detriment. Seniors in particular grew up in a era when a doctor was sort of an authority figure or the infallable "expert" on medical issues. Many were also led to believe that a pill/prescription or procedure would cure everything. And medical mistakes happen to other people-not me syndrome. People have to learn they have to work at their own health and that includes educating and making some treatment decisions for themselves.

The biggest problem I have with doctors is that they don't really tell me what's happening to me. That, plus I find many of them to be so arrogant.

I once heard it said that, "Doctors hand out information, like a Kosher butcher hands out pork".
