Hi folks, I'm a newbie. You can read a bit about me my "Introductions" thread.
This thread is a follow-up to my $0 Music Studio thread. Once I got a taste of singing multiple tracks of my own voice using GarageBand and the built-in microphone on my Apple laptop, I sprang for $50 in software called "Reaper," and $250 for a microphone and computer interface to do recording serious recording, mixing, and mastering. Free "virtual instruments" downloaded from the internet provided me with drums, guitars, keyboards, horns, and violins. With those I made these covers of recent recording by Eric Clapton.
"River Runs Deep"

"Ride the River"

Let me know what you think and whether you'd care to give it a whirl yourself.
If you really like it, do like the young kids do and push the little heart icon in soundcloud to give me a like, and drop in a comment that says you can't believe a 61 year old PhD in Molecular Biology can lay down that kind of sound.
