My attempt at making cutout cookies

One thing I learned - I'll never get a job as a bakery employee, especially as an icer. Looks like an intoxicated person did these.

They are actually peanut butter cookies I did as cut-outs. I did sample one, it tasted fine, but more crispy than traditionally shaped PBs.

I made them to take to Wednesday's Bible study. Instead of buying expensive specialty frostings, I just bought one can of vanilla already made frosting, then tinted portions and made a piping bag out of a plastic bags by snipping off a small corner.

When my girls were at home we would make sugar cookies. We would use christmas cookie cutters and decorate them. Pack them in Christmas tins and include them with regular presents for family and friends. We did this even after they were in college. Miss that family tradition.

I sold most of the cookie cutters I inherited when I moved, just keeping a few.

ff I was told that I was a hyper kid and as an adult, I suspect that was why I was awful at rolling out the dough, I finally gave up and all my cookies were drop cookies and I must have made a gazillion! I loved baking and the family loved eating the baked goodies.

Update: There were 9 people there (not counting me). I brought about half of them home, but at least several people took some.

Thats a fabulous idea Deb. I’ve been making yearly Christmas cookies and I never thought of that. It probably doesnt harden or does it?
