My brother has died

Ron, the fact that you said you are devastated by your loss tells me that your brother was an amazing human being.
You may be angry and feeling lost so I pray that you may be surrounded by friends and family and those who love you...like God.
You may not be a believer but Jesus is your friend and the Holy Spirit will comfort you if you are open to that.

To be honest, I have mourned the loss of my brothers for most of our lives. I was the youngest of three sons from Dad's first marriage.

Our parents had severe emotional problems. We were always afraid of Dad hitting us, or my mother going to "the hospital" with an emotional breakdown. We never had a good relationship.

I watched my brothers over a lifetime as they gave up on themselves, and got sicker emotionally and physically. I hadn't seen this last brother for over 30 years. My life's pursuits took me to different places. I came back to MN 10 years ago and hoped to finally get a happy family. It didn't work.

So sorry Ron. Sometimes we mourn what might have been.
