My Cash Went Fast This Month!

I'm sorry you have disability.

If we met, you'd never know it ... except I might ask you to repeat something or try and read your lips.
So I have some hearing loss for which I get 10% ... and 30% for my eyesight.
I had 20/20 vision going into the military and while still in the military, had cataracts in both eyes at only 50yrs old.
The surgery to put Bausch & Lomb lenses in my eyes didn't cost me anything.
It was done at a military hospital by a military doctor. First one and then six weeks later, the other.
The lens implants are both fixed for distance vision and I have off the shelf readers for the close stuff.

We just paid, due 23rd of each month, our credit card. $2100 and change. It’s scary but we put almost everything we purchase on this card in order to receive cash back. House ins.car ins. Groceries and more goes on the card. I try not to go over two thousand but prices keep increasing.

I have to pay 3 property taxes every year - school, county and village. Village is due in June. This year it was almost $700.
School tax will be coming up in September. Last year it was $2434 which includes the STAR senior discount. County taxes come in January. This year it was $740. I looked up the village tax to get an accurate amount which I've already paid - $648. That's over $3800 total in just property taxes.

I used to put all purchases on my (Rewards) credit card because of cash back points.
Found out I could get the absolute lowest interest rate available by switching to their Platinum card.
Now, I only use my debit card for all local purchases. Helps me to keep track of purchases just as well as a CC.
I use very little cash each month but keep a few bucks in my wallet just because ya never know.
Those bills in the wallet may be worth something some day as antiques LOL.
Whatever I put on the CC, I just transfer online from checking to the CC. I keep the CC balance at ZERO, always.

I have been with the same "bank" since 1987 and they treat me very well.
Never had to look elsewhere for any financial needs. Navy Federal Credit Union rocks.

I'm worried this stuff is total crap or something is wrong with it. The ferals I feed should be total disposals and they don't want it? Something seems up.
Try sending an email or calling them. They might give you a credit for it. It can’t hurt to try.

That's a good idea. Oh I don't know if I kept my receipt? I got it at Petsmart. I'm going to look around for it.

Seriously when I fed the ferals on a day I worked, when I went to feed them after work, there was still food left. Very unusual. Perhaps a few kernels may be there the ants got into but there was a significant amount left. Makes me wonder if it didn't agree with them.

My brother who I'm low contact with, had wondered if he would have hearing loss from years on an air craft carrier. The jet noise must be insane.

Like my crazy mother, I have excellent hearing.

Also spent 40 dollars at the local yarn shop during their annual sale. Was only going to get some organic natural color yarn they carry. That didn't work out as planned either.

When I go to the bank this coming week with two pay checks I'm going to do some real calculations and see what I think I may need for the month and stick to it. And hope nothing unexpected comes up like my stomach going out on me at work and realizing when I got home, I only had two doses of the medication left.

Thanks again for the idea. I looked online and it appears I can even without a receipt. Plus since I have my phone number with Petsmart, I think they should have a record of my purchase. Sadly, they will just throw it away but I don't feel comfortable about this food. Perhaps I can at least get the money back or store credit which would be fine.

Just been reading the posts, interesting and proves even more that I am lost on how folk in the USA function financially compared with folk in the USA. Still, it makes a change, something new to learn and work out. My neighbour married a USA girl who moved over here, she hated the place and moved back. My brother's daughter has married a guy from the USA and wants to move back, in fact, she moved back very quickly as she was diagnosed with cancer in the first few weeks and shot back here as she had worked in the hospital and could still pull a few strings.

For those in the USA wondering how I got a free smart phone with free unlimited talk, text and unlimited data
And $30 off my Internet service each month, here are a couple of links below.
Some benefits will vary from state to state.
Even if approved for the benefits, you will still need to contact your service provider with benefit enrollment number.
The benefits are well worth the effort if qualified.

Try the first link to see if you qualify ...
It's been a while, but think I only had to wade through the first link.
After I qualified, everything just sort of fell into place and email and tracking notified me of the free phone and service.
But the second link is actually the phone service carrier and also provides links to eligibility options.
I don't pay a penny for wireless phone service, so don't sign up for anything that cost money at the second link.
And as said, once approved I had to contact my Internet provider (Spectrum) and give them my Lifeline enrollment number.
Good Luck !!!
