If that's one of those small-sized cakes that have around 2 servings, I like to buy them occasionally. Need to read the labels carefully, though, because there's often a weird kind of frosting instead of buttercream. I only like buttercream- but it's not very popular around here.

Sometimes those store bought cakes the icing is extremely sugary. I like butter cream and cream cheese frosting.

There used to be a bakery near where I worked that had frosting almost like marshmallow. Now THAT kind made me uncomfortable in places best mentioned in a doctor's office.

Marshmallow frosting is a thing for sure. Not the easiest of frostings to make as you have to get the consistency just right or it can become a mess. If you get it right it can taste rather good though if you like that sort of thing like a marshmallow doughnut.
