My idea of The Dream Team - lol

Small, medium, large and I use the s**t out of all of them. Mr. TWH and I fight over who's going to bushog and he lost that fight (it was a good one:) five minutes ago.

When I bushog, I manicure. When Mr. TWH bushogs, it's "just get the job done" and then there's big clumps of grass and weeds left to mold all over the horse pasture. Not only does it look like trash, all that moldy smelling crap is not good for the horses to eat around. I don't even want them eating off those clumps before they start molding because they start to ferment as soon as they're thrown out of the bushog and that can turn into colic by the end of the day.

So I won but geezus, it's going to rain Saturday AM and that means no cutting anything until Sunday as long as the sun comes out. Yeah, the entire yard needs it again:(( I'm close to getting sick of this and it's only early May:(

We never keep the big Ford in the house garage but I was dumb enough to think I could cut the fields today and wanted to be able to open a gate, jump on the tractor and gooooo:eek:nthego: I got rained out so "Old Bess" is back in the workshop tonight. Yessss, I love my Saturn but she had to sit outside last night - I have my priorities. Old Bess is 44 years old; we bought her at an estate auction 10 years ago. We are second owners and she has never in her life sat outside.

We are also second owners on the John Deere. We did buy the Little Husky new and I'll bet she wishes she'd never been taken off the trailer - lol lol

If we ever hit the More Money Than Brains Lottery and I'm still walking, my first big purchase will be a big John Deere with an A/C cab and a set of bat wings:eek:nthego:

Anyway, that's the mowing crew and the Anything Else Crew that needs done around here. I am ever-so-grateful Mr. TWHRider is the mechanic that he is --- if he would just learn not to try and scalp the pastures---------------------:sentimental:

Quite the dream team TWHRider! I can't say I've ever rode a mower, never had a plot big enough to handle one. I know what you mean about the moldy clippings, there always a few small ones in my gas push mower, and my dog seems to head directly for them if they drop off, like he craves the mold. I just wonder if the Mr. actually lost or won...hmmm. Great when our hubbys are good mechanics though, can't beat that...we'd go broke if we had to trust and hire outside mechanics to repair the vehicles, etc.

Farmbabes covet equipment like most ladies love jewelry or designer shoes. Forget those silly things and give me a new pressure washer, rototiller or tractor any day. Heck, even a new wheelbarrow makes my week.. Yes, we do form emotional attachments to these things.
Today, I caught myself feeling sorry for the old Murray, despite much physical abuse and neglect from me, the old boy gave it all he had, now there's a new kid on the block.

I need a cold shower thinking what I could do with a dozer or backhoe around here. :playful: That's my lottery first buy, no shoes or trips to foreign countries here.

TWH..Your old tractor is precious..it looks much loved:love_heart:

We bought a Dixie Chopper ( The worlds fastest lawn mower ) three years ago. My wife likes it so much I rarely get to use it. We have a regular riding mower too which pulls the cyclone rake.

A tractor with loader would be handy but we don't have enough need to justify the cost. Our Arctic Cat ATV gets a lot of use for a variety of jobs.

Totally agree! I could care less about jewelry and shoes. I bought a pressure washer and a cement mixer one year and thought I'd hit the jackpot. Would give my eye teeth for some big farm machinery!

You're in the club TICA...bought my hubby a new chain saw for his birthday...we really needed a new one around here, we have two old ones that were quirky about starting, got tired of hearing him swear at them...I think I was more excited about it than he was though.

My friend up north grew up in farm country and found himself a nice Farmall Cub. Great little tractor and it does the job on his acreage.

Farmall's are hard working tractors:thumbsup:

My younger brother still has the 1947 2N Ford our dad bought in 1951. It worked the farm when I was little, but my brother leases the farm out and just uses the 2N to bushog the pastures these days. The old Ford-Ferguson with the steel wheels is still sitting where Dad beached it, after buying the 2N. It has a tree growing up threw the front end. I can remember sitting in front of my dad on that tractor when we were knee-deep in mud and he almost flipped it. I think that was probably when he decided it was time to get a safer tractor - lol Before the Ferguson, we farmed with -----------------------HORSES!! You either love them or hate them after farming with them - lol

Ozarkgal, when my son's father and I were married, he bought us His and Hers chain saws for one of our anniversaries. When we went our separate ways, he tried to take my chainsaw and I asked him how he'd like me to use it on him. That little Homelite is a late 1970's model and is still cutting tree limbs:)

It sure is nice to see I'm not the only gal on the forum that gets excited over farm equipment - lol lol
A cement mixer --- hmmmm, I could get creative with that:banana:
