My little apple tree

It sat in the bedroom window over the winter and didn't have any growth - not surprised, most plants are fairly dormant in winter. Now It's had about 2 inches of growth in the last 10 days.

I had an apple tree once at my old house. I never got any apples though, because the squirrels would yank them off the tree, take one bite and throw it on the ground. After the first couple years, I quit getting excited about apple season.

Its got a way to go @debodun before any Apples grow , but its nice to grow anything .

It's really taken off recently - tripled in size in the last month.

What variety of tree is that? I have two 'James Grieve' and one 'Spartan', but I suspect we have totally different varieties to you.
My apple trees produced a great crop for the first time last year. We bought the plants when they were about 3 feet tall and this will be their 4th year. The apples can be used for eating or cooking.

I don't know. I get apples from the senior food bank and they get a variety donated. It was a year ago I started the seed and I can't remember.
