My MRI results are in. Seems I have a genetic defect.

I got on the portal and took a look but I haven't had my appointment yet to discuss the results but I did have my son send them to his best friend who is a radiologist.

There are lots of smaller issues but nothing major going on in my lower back. There was a note that stated that I have a double collecting system of the right kidney. I looked that up and it's just a defect that is benign.

My shoulder shows mild tendinitis.

So...why does my shoulder hurt so badly and why can't I even stretch that arm completely??

Anyway...will see what the pain dr has to say on Sept 20.

Anybody else find that they have a defect? I looked it up and mine isn't anything to worry about it and I don't know if it's a plus or minus as far as kidney function goes.

I don`t have a defect per se,but when I had a CT scan last year to diagnose a kidney stone, they found a mass that they were assuming was going to cost me a kidney. Then they decided it was just a cyst that had ruptured for unknown reasons. OK,I`ll take that over removing a kidney!

My grandson had a bad shoulder in high school-caused by overthrowing in baseball. MRI showed nothing but tendonitis. Pain persisted so new doc did a more extensive MRI-can`t for the life of me remember what exactly they did. Injected fluid maybe? Anyway, turned out he had a torn labrum. Had surgery but his shoulder still bothers him,7 years later. Not enough to keep him from climbing power poles though,so he`s OK with it. Better than it was before surgery.

That shoulder pain can be a show stopper CC, you need whatever topical med they suggest for application but it can come back. I have had bouts of it over the years.

Its probably inflammation in the shoulder. I take a cortisone script for mine and it helps. A hearing pad soothes the inflammation at night for me. Glad your appointment is just a couple of days away. I love my doc's portal.

I had to have shoulder surgery back in 2010 for "impingement"; I had a "frozen shoulder" and couldn't put my hand behind my back or raise my arm very far. They sawed off a little of the end of my collarbone and cleaned everything up and with physical therapy, I got like 98% of my movement back. I was a happy camper.

What does your blood test show for your kidney function, Chrissy ? If your kidney function is in the normal range, and not going down since the last test you had; then the kidney is probably functioning fine still. I think that over 59 is considered normal, and below that shows that you might have kidney problems.

Ive tried the heating pad and also creams but doesn't help much, nothing really does.

i have defect in my neck c3-c4 fused together. mri of chest showed scarring from pneumonia, mri of belly showed tumor on adrenal gland, finger up the bazoo and i have enlarged prostate...

Just got back from my appointment with the pain Dr. They already had an epidural shot waiting for me....I refused it and said I'd rather try physical therapy first. He wasn't happy.

Gave me a long car salesman type spiel as to why physical therapy might be too hard for my back and might even damage my herniated disc and blah blah blah.

Theres something about that place I don't like.

I hope therapy will help it CC. It takes time. Best of luck to you with it.:love_heart:
