The Back Story-
I went on a holiday with my future wife to San Diego in 1992. We went to see the whale named Shamu. After the whale/ water show, we got our picture taken on this podium with a guy in a fuzzy whale costume...my wife and I on either side of him. It was us and Shamu.
So we returned to Canada and visited my elderly Grandparents at their retirement home. I showed them the picture of the two of us on the podium...(you can even see the guy's face through the fuzzy costume and he's smiling)...and they were both in shock!
Grandmother: "Oh, dear! They let you get THAT close to such a dangerous fish?!"
Grandfather: "Oh GOOD GOD!!! You're an awfully BRAVE fella, I'll give you that!!
Anyhoo, my wife and I nearly peed our pants laughing! I just have to find that picture. It's somewhere in storage. Just thought of this funny memory when my sister and I were remembering Nanny and Gramps.
