Sadie is a Bernese Mountain Dog that came from an Amish puppy mill in Ohio. When we first brought Sadie home, she was so scared she wouldn't come out of the car. Slowly, with constant love and attention, Sadie is adjusting to life outside of the mill and has accepted us as her new family. We have two other rescue dogs we adopted before Sadie, ages 10 yrs and 8 yrs. We also have 5 cats that we adopted when Mama Cat gave us 5 kittens, one died, then came Leo, our latest cat addition.
Sadie is a smart 41/2 yr female Berner. Her coat is a beautiful black, white and brown tri-colored, thick long-hair coat. Sadie is kind, loving, very smart and strong willed with a mind of her own.
Sunday, we attended Berner Fest sponsored by the Bernese Mountain Dog club of the Finger Lakes. We visited with the founders of the club and learned about Berner traits and behavior. They gave Sadie high marks on her demeanor, character, and overall appearance.
Sadie remains isolated from family and does not interact with us as well as I hoped she would by this time.
I cannot determine the rate of progress and success
