My son-in-law Vinny..

My kids are here for the weekend. My son in law said he could not sleep a wink last night because of the NOISE . This is the view from my house..

I have been calling him 'Vinny' all day because he reminded me of this scene from ' My Cousin Vinny'.

When George and Ira Gershwin had left New York City for Folly Beach, South Carolina to work on Porgy and Bess, George could not sleep because of all the noise. He sent his assistant outside to beat the bushes to shut the crickets up. I used to wonder who he sent out in NYC to shut the subways/buses/taxicabs/sirens/latenight partygoers up ...

In South Carolina last summer, it was the bullfrogs right under our windows that kept my ex-friend awake.

When my SIL first moved out here he complained that "it was too dark !!"

Good grief. I'd be ashamed to send someone out to beat bushes LOL. Poor assistant. I can just imagine what he must have been muttering. :D

They were reminding me today when I had the opposite problem. We were overnight at a hotel after a wedding. Hubby turned out the light and everyone went to sleep...except me. Couldn't sleep a wink. First time away from Sophie since we got her. Plus it was too quiet. Between hubby and kids keeping vampire hours, and typical house creaks and groans this house is never quiet.

You should have left the tv on :)

Snoring, burping or farting can be the problem...

Well the guest bedroom is all the way at the other end of the house from my bedroom, so if it was snoring, burping & farting it was their usual stuff & I wasn't anywhere near them LOL

Snoring, burping or farting can be the problem... Yup, the bull breeds are lovers but intestinal fortitude...they won't attack. Just clear a room.

I know a few people who can clear a room...
