My trip to Bergen, Norway

Hi all, we're back again after last week in Bergen. I've posted some photos to give an idea of what it's like.
We flew from Aberdeen with the Norwegian airline, Wideroe. I like it because it's a direct flight between two relatively small airports. The 76 seat planes are reasonably comfortable and have good legroom. The flight is just over 1 hour. Unlike some bigger carriers, you also get a nice snack and drinks.

After we had eaten our snacks and drunk out coffee, the cabin seemed quiet - except for a clicking noise behind us. I looked round a there were the two flight attendants sitting there knitting. Well, I suppose they need something to pass the time.

There was more 'fun' when we landed. The light rail to the city centre was out of action and the airport bus was nowhere to be seen. Time to 'bite the bullet' and take a taxi. That was fine till we reached the hotel and we found that the driver's credit card reader wouldn't work. OK, there was an ATM there so I withdrew cash and paid the fare.

The hotel was really good and in the centre of town, but the real star was breakfast. Forget bacon and egg - there was smoked salmon, gravadlax, pickled herring, prawn salad - even caviar and freshly baked bread.

To be continued..................
