My Uber Update

I keep accurate records and since January 1st to May16th I taken 72 trips with Uber. It has taken care of all my transportation needs and let me keep my independence. The total cost is just about what my 3 A auto would be for the same period of time, not to mention gas/oil/ parking etc.

I am facing the prospect of not having my driver's licence renewed, because I have an abdominal aortic aneurysm. Our licencing authority says it's too much of a risk for me to drive.

I have a twice a day bus service at the end of my driveway, and I also have the option of using our local Community Transport service, which takes you door to door. The minimum charge is $Au7 and goes up from there, depending how far you want to travel. The bus would cost $Au2.50 for a return trip to the shopping centre.

I will miss not being able to drive, but the alternatives are quite OK and not expensive at all.

Our local Uber would cost quite a lot more.
