Mysterious Alarm Clock

I wanted a clock that projects the time on the ceiling to make it easier on arthritic joints in the middle of the night than turning over to view the time on the night table. Just wanted a simple clock but they all seem to come with bells-and-whistles so I had to settle for one of those.

Pulled the old clock and stuck it in a drawer in case I have problems with the new one. Plugged in the new one and set it up. At 5am, the alarm went off. Huh ... I didn't set the alarm! Hit the Off Alarm button but it still continued. Pulled the plug from the wall and stripped out the back-up batteries and still the alarm screeched. The damn thing must be haunted!

Turns out that it was the old clock. Even though it wasn't showing a display, the ancient back-up battery in it was still alive-and-kicking. Obviously, I inadvertently hit its alarm button before putting it in the drawer.

They say that with age comes wisdom. I wonder how long I'll have to live to achieve same. I can see my mom and late wife just shaking their heads at their absent-minded perfesser.

This stuff happens to me about once a week DG...does make ya question yourself or if there's a mischievous spirit trying to make you go bonkers :oops:

Don't know if you are retired or not. But one of my best memories when newly retired that continues 25 years later.
I don't care what time it is once I go to bed.
