At the bottom of the garden, I have just discovered a pile of feathers. Obviously, a cat or a fox has caught and eaten a bird. There are no bones left, just feathers.
... but what on earth was the bird???
This sample feather is 4.5 inches long, and the side feather has a beautiful red colour. There are quite a few similar feathers, so it must have been a large bird.
