Nail Salons, Language Barriers and Tipping

I bounce between two different places. One is in the hood and way cheap...Vietnamese. The other "in town" and maybe ten dollars more for anything...Korean. My daughter in law who I love dearly is Thai...they all escape me. The place for the pedicure tonight was the hood. The buzzy thing on your toenails? NONONO I didn't tip her, but how to tell the owner in Vietnamese "She does mad painful pedicures Hell no".

I go to one of those limited language places, and I just call ahead and get an appointment with the lady who isn't painful. Solves the problem. I've been going there for years, ever since my hips started going south and made trimming my own toenails impossible. Even with my titanium hips, toenails are still a bit difficult, so I just go there instead.
