Name the Most Dangerous Virus of all Time.

I suppose it depends on what is meant by "dangerous". Killed the largest number of people? Killed the largest percentage of the population? Had the lowest survival rate?

As I recall, the Marburg virus was virtually 100% fatal but fortunately was not widespread.

Without googling it i can’t name one(although I suggest doing that) but in the past there have been pandemics that have wiped out huge swathes of the world population.
This one is nowhere being the worst. And it will die out like the others did.

Hmm .. I was wrong. I looked it up and Marburg is only about 50% fatal.

BTW, although the plague (yersinia pestis) has caused s number of horrible epidemics throughout history (including "the Black Death"), it's a bacterium - not a virus.

I don't know for sure, but I do believe that death is the most likely cause of loss of life 100% of the time.

Also, I believe the correct answer to the OP's question is the Black Plague as other posters have already mentioned. It took place in the Middle Ages and wiped out entire towns.
