@Nathan Do you have any suggestions for...

How I can move all my Word files and Docs to a Linux Word/Office ap?

I'm considering installing Linux on my PC and I have a bunch of MS word documents I want to save.
Can you suggest an uncomplicated way to import them to Linux? Like, should I download them to a data stick or something first?

Since I only use my PC to go to a handful of websites and a couple of email accts, I plan to install the least (or a less) complex Linus product plus their basic word/office ap. But do you know if they have an office ap that will allow me to simply import all my MS Docs?
(probly not, right?)

Thanks in advance.

While waiting for Nathan to chime in and since I've used Linux since about 2009, I'll chime in.

Linux Distro I recommend for those coming from Windows:
Linux Mint

Libre Office is the freeware office suite that comes with Linux Mint and I've never had a problem using Libre Office to open and use with Microsoft documents. That said, before you wipe Windows from your computer, you can download and install Libre Office in Windows, to check it out and assure yourself of MS Word compatibility and ease of use.

As far as transferring files ... store them on a data stick as backup, to transfer to a different computer, and/or to load them onto a new operating system ... so yes, data stick.
