National Apple Cider Day - November 18th

I love apple cider at this time of year and always drink it until stores stop carrying it because it's out of season. I buy the organic stuff because apples are the most heavily pesticide sprayed crop being prey to both flying and crawling insects. Having become used to organic food I can taste the pesticides in non organic produce now. ;)

Ah, mulled cider. I was surprised when I bought cider in the US and found that it was just apple juice. I've just laid in some of my favourite cider for Christmas. It's called Biddenden Special Reserve and is 14% ABV. It comes from the Biddenden vineyard in Kent who also produce some excellent English wines.
