National French Toast Day - November 28th

Back when i was a teen, an old scout leader used to take
us camping, shooting, fishing etc....he had a type of french toast
I've never seen anywhere else...he made a batter similar to
pancake batter, and then he dipped the bread into it and fried
the bread piece in lard, grease you know....and that slice puffed
up and got golden brown colored...it was absolutely wonderful
tasting....!!!!
