About a month ago I intended to make a triple batch of my fudge brownies, but blew the butter measurement (put in 1 lb instead of 1 cup) and wound up making a sextuple batch. My grandchildren were thrilled to learn of my error because it sure works in their favor!

Needless to say, I've still got plenty of fudge brownies in the freezer - close enough to fudge to celebrate National Fudge Day!

I’ve been making fudge since I was 13 years old. I make it in a black cast iron frying pan. Several relatives count on it for Christmas and Valentine Day gifts.
I’ve made so much of it over the years that I don’t even care to eat it anymore.

Way back in the early 50s, we had a neighbor lady who would watch us 3 kids when our parents had other plans. She would usually make a small batch of vanilla fudge to keep us entertained. I can still see the small serving dish she poured the fudge into before it cooled enough to cut. Great stuff!

Thank you Mrs Anderson!
