National Hot Dog Day - July 19th

Every Toronto Blue Jays home game that takes place on a Tuesday is "One dollar hot dog night " at The Rogers Centre. The Centre seats about 40,000 fans, and on Hot Dog Tuesdays, the fans eat around 65,000 of them. All of that money goes to the Jays Cares Foundation, to fund local sports teams. The Jays also have a monthly 50/50 ticket draw, with the winning ticket being worth over ONE MILLION DOLLARS. The other million also goes to the Jays Care Foundation. JimB.

Once or twice a year I'll have a hot dog.

It must have spicy mustard and a bit of diced raw onion.
Better if I can get it charred.

My other way is what we used to call Coney Island hot dogs.
It's topped with chili sauce and some diced onion.

Third, comes a hot dog from Blackie's with the original Blackie relish (hot). ⬇️

Blackie's Hot Dog Stand remains frozen in time on Waterbury Road in Cheshire, CT. Nothing much has changed since it first opened in 1928 and generations of locals love it that way. Two octagonal towers, the red and white color scheme, and glowing neon sign make this roadside dive stand out from the rest.

Our hot dogs are a custom recipe made exclusively for Blackie’s by Martin Rosol’s of New Britain, CT.

After we finished the Architectural tour in Chicago, talked the wife into letting me get
a Chicago Dog.
Dined at a place on the river and IT WAS GREAT! The topping were even in the right order...

My all-time favorite is an 'Alanta Slaw Dog'.

My mom told me once that one of the first things I learned how to do after learning to walk was open the refrigerator door and she said I'd either grab a hot dog or stick of butter and start eating it......now once in a blue moon I'll still reach in the frig and eat a cold hot dog but taking a big bite out of a cold stick of butter just doesn't really sound all that appetizing to me. :)

@IKE, some time ago I read we should always cook hot dogs first to avoid listeria.

It's been awhile since I've had a hot dog. Lowe's would sometimes have a cart outside their building, and I'd grab one to eat on the go. I either just add mustard or ketchup, depending on my mood. Sometimes relish.
