We have our pancake day in Feb sometime .....but I eat pancakes all year round,

I surprised my wife with a pancake breakfast this morning. I had no idea that there was a pancake day and that it was today! I like mine with extra eggs and thinly cooked.

I enjoyed seeing this new thread title, at first,

but now I suddenly do not feel like eating my usual breakfast, and for some unknown reason, after gazing at these above posts and pictures,
my interest seems to be focused solely on having some of these imaginary pancakes.

Well strictly speaking it's the day before the start of lent and that depends on the date of Easter, so it can be in February or March.

It's a movable date. Shrove Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday, that's the start of Lent in case any secular types thought it was a national cigarette day.

My spell checker is having a hissy fit over the word Shrove. It keeps try to change it to shove.

Just melted butter is wonderful. Sometimes I add unsweetened cocoa to give the cakes a nice subtle chocolate after taste.

Pancakes were our favorite day before payday meal when we were growing up.

We ate a lot of pancakes!
