National Pharmacist Day - January 12th

Most large chain pharmacies are short-staffed, and the pharmacists are overburdened. The only pharmacy that has enough help is the small, privately owned one that I use on occasion. I'd prefer to use them all the time, but the larger pharmacies usually have better prices. In fact, a while ago, when I went there to fill a new prescription, the owner told me to go to CVS because "they have deeper pockets," meaning he couldn't meet their price. I thought that was kind and considerate of him. He could've just filled that prescription and said nothing, all the while knowing that I could have paid less elsewhere.

My pharmacy is part of a local grocery chain. Their prices are reasonable. It may have to do with my insurance, don't know. There are usually 3 regulars working there and some part timers as well. I know them by name and they know mine. When they see me coming down the aisle, they'll pull my order out of the drawer and have it ready. It's got a small town feel which it is.

I wasn't a pharmcist but I worked at a local hospital in pharmacy dept. My job was delivering narcotics to all nursing&speciality floors
The pharmacists I worked with were very dedicated, hard working great co workers
