My (German) grandmother used to make plum pudding for Christmas Dessert. I loved it. And her hard sauce was always smooth as silk. My (Brit) grandmother served the kind from a can. It was still good because she also made her own hard sauce.
Loved seeing it brought to table flaming.
After I was grown, I found a recipe for bourbon hard sauce. Bourbon. Hard. Sauce. Haven't had plum pudding in years (or the hard sauce that goes with it).
Now I want plum pudding. Gonna look at work tomorrow and see if Kroger carries it.
